What to see



 
【 Longpan Park 】Longpan Scenic Area is located in Hengchun Peninsula of Pingtung County. It is a rising limestone terrace, 40.5 kilometers from Goejia Highway. Millenia of erosion has carved the limestone into interesting and breathtaking images. The grassy landscape has been sculpted by the northeast monsoon  for a wide view that shows the twisting of the coast and steep cliffs of the mountains.
【 Eluanbi 】The Eulanbi Lighthouse is located at the southernmost tip of the Central Mountain Range. The lighthouse is 21.4 meters high and is one of the most magnificent ring lighthouses. It has been called the “East of East Asia” and has been listed as a historical preservation area. The park surrounding it is a coral reef limestone terrain. Clear sea water  spans a majestic view of huge coral reefs and rock formations protruding from the surface. The trails in the park weave across the park, taking you to fascinating sights. Looking from the north, you can see the reefs and the peaks, in addition to the stand of the Qiong twist shaft, which is interspersed to form a magnificent picture of the mountains and seas.
【 Chunfan Rock 】Between Kenting and the Eulanbi, there is a giant reef standing alone on the coast. Standing at 18 meters, it is called the “sail-stone reef” because it looks like a dhow, a boat with large sails. It was formed by a previous piece of limestone falling from the edge of and was uplifted by the dense coral reef.
【 Southernmost point 】with the Pacific on the left and the bus Strait to the right, the coast has formed an almost conical triangular shape.  You can take photos and reminisce about the memories you have made on your journey while being surrounded by the crashing of waves and wind whistling through the air at the southernmost point of Taiwan. 
【 Taipower Exhibit Center in Southern Taiwan 】
The Taipower Exhibit Center in Southern Taiwan has an extensive collections of informative and interactive displays that aims to teach the public about the various energy resources in the world such as solar, wind and nuclear power. In addition, visitors can observe the fish living together with the coral reefs in the seawater aquarium; along with a view of the old greenery and blue skies, the old nuclear background is also a marvelous addition to the scenery.
ShadaoSand Island is the purest shell beach in Kenting. The calcium carbonate content of the beach is 97.6%. Due to severe damage caused by smuggling of the sand(sometimes using trucks), The Department of Management had set up a protected area. There is now a "shell sand display pavilion", which introduces the precious resources of Sandy Beach, and also has a touch area, so that visitors who cannot go down the beach can also enjoy the beautiful shell sand.
【Kenting Forest Recreation Area】
The Kenting Forest Recreation Area is the first tropical plant forest in Taiwan . It has an area of 75 hectares and an altitude of about 200-300 meters. The area is full of uplifted coral reefs. Formed by the bones of marine animal polyps and shellfish remains, seaweed, etc., this area was undoubtedly a seabed several thousand years ago.
There are more than 1,000 species of plants in the park, including 325 exotic species and more than 70 cacti. In addition, there are many important wild plants on the coast of Kenting, such as the Barringtonia that is known as the "flower of the garden", which is an endangered species in Taiwan; they grow on the coast of southern Taiwan, and the shape of the fruit is like meat. Its flowers are only open at night, and the sky fades as soon as it is bright.
The play area is full of exquisite coral reefs, strange and natural, with beautiful forest scenery. The most famous ones are: Guanhai Building, Huayuan, Wanghaitai, Kenting Beach, Coral Reef Group, Stalagmite Cave, First Line Heaven, Qiyu Cliff, Coveted Valley, Yinlong Cave.
【 National Museum of Marine Biology 】
         The National Museum of Marine Biology is located in Checheng Township, Pingtung County, west of the blue Taiwan Strait, and is 72 meters high in Guishan. The whole area is 96.81 hectares, of which the museum area covers 35.81 hectares and the rest is covered by green landscapes. The museums, aquarium experimental centers, service facilities, research buildings, maintenance facilities, international conference centers, and academic research centers.
  The museum being placed between the mountains and rivers, the overall planning concept embodies the spirit and characteristics of "water", with low-density building infrastructure, dispersing functionally different buildings and connecting them with trails, maintaining as much of the original landscape in a harmonious relationship with the environment.

 
【 Kenting Youth Activity Center 】
The Kenting Youth Activity Center is adjacent to Kenting Frog Stone Waterfront Park. It covers nearly 15 hectares and was designed by Dr. Han Baode, a national treasure architect. It is known as the Museum of Fine Southern Architecture and is the most representative of Kenting National Park architectural community. The environment of the park is elegant with its blue seas, blue sky, shell beach, elegant and elegant garden, making it picture-perfect. Seventeen major buildings of different shapes are named  as according First nine of Chinese Hundred Family Surnames Ancestral hall title . In the central area, there are Frog Stone seaside recreation trails, tropical coastal plants such as Barringtonia, Reef Pemphis, and Sea Lettuce; special coastal landscapes such as coral reef landscapes and sea cliffs are all in sight. You can also see the Bashi Channel, the Eluanbi, the Maobitou Park and the beach sunset, as well as a lover's beach, a shell beach surrounded by corals, and a good spot to watch the sunset.
【 Hengchun Ancient City 】
Hengchun Ancient City is located in Hengchun Town, Pingtung County, Taiwan. It was the capital of Hengchun County established after the Peony Society incident in the Qing Dynasty. It was built on October 18th, the first year of Guangxu (November 15, 1875) and completed on July 15th of the fifth year of  GuangXu (September 1st, 1879). It is the only one of Taiwan's existing ancient cities that preserves all the gates.
The perimeter is 2600 meter, the city base is 5.9 meter thick, and the outer wall is 4.28 meter high. The inner wall is 3.95 meter high, the wall width is 4.72 meter, and there are four doors, except the south gate. There are "Mingdumen", the other three are only known as the East Gate, the North Gate, and the West Gate. There is a trench outside the gate, a bridge at the gate, and a fort between the gates. In the city, there are county offices, the Department of History, the Temple of Literature, the Temple of Heaven, the Temple of the City, the Ford Temple, the Temple of the Three Mountains, and the Temple of Guanyin.
